About the Curriculum

A generous feast, without the clutter

Without Doors uses the principles of minimalism to deliver a rich Charlotte Mason education, making it a wonderful fit whether you’re brand new to Charlotte Mason or years into your homeschool journey. Each book lays out weekly lessons on a simple two-page spread, with everything you need noted on the supply list, so there’s no guesswork about what to gather before you begin.

Without Doors facilitates good habits in students and families including: narration, nature journaling, map-drawing, keeping a Book of Centuries, copywork, dictation, keeping a Commonplace Book, artist study, composer study, learning hymns, poetry recitation, and more.

“Never be within doors when you can rightly be without.”

Why Charlotte Mason?

An education that is an atmosphere, a discipline, a life

Charlotte Mason was a British educational reformer whose philosophy is still trusted in homes and schools around the world today. She believed education should be “an atmosphere, a discipline, a life,” lived out through short lessons, living books, and narration, alongside a full feast including nature study, artist and composer study, poetry recitation, and more.

You don’t need to be a Charlotte Mason expert to bring her philosophy home. Without Doors offers step-by-step guidance so you can implement her methods with confidence, spreading the same generous educational feast Ms. Mason envisioned, without feeling overwhelmed.

Loved by homeschool families

“This curriculum gives a sweet framework for a Charlotte Mason education and has brought more peace and enjoyment to our homeschool.

My children look forward to the weekly map-drawing assignments.”

— Shana (mom of 5)

“We absolutely love this curriculum! It’s been such a great fit for our family—especially for my high schooler. The lessons are full of rich, meaningful material that actually keeps them engaged and thinking deeply, not just checking boxes. Everything is laid out in a way that makes it easy to use, whether you’re working through it together or letting an older student work more independently. It has truly elevated our homeschool days, and I’m so glad we found it!”

— Trisha

“I have been homeschooling for over two decades. I appreciate so many things about Without Doors – the layout, thoughtfulness, simplicity, flexibility, and the fullness!”

— Kristi

“Having everything laid out for me in a weekly plan helps me feel prepared and not overwhelmed.

Integrating the unique timeline song and the simple Book of Centuries prompts into our history lessons has been wonderful.”

— Jenny (mom of 2)

“I’ve used and loved Without Doors for the last two years. As a long time homeschool mom with four kids ages 1-13, I struggled for years to find a curriculum that was rich and engaging, yet also easy to follow and implement until I found Without Doors. It checks all those boxes and more. We are so thankful for the beautiful feast it provides our family, and the simplicity of executing it makes our days so much smoother and lovelier.”

— Amanda

“I’ve used lots of different curriculums and always felt overwhelmed. The things I really wanted to do never happened. This is the first year that I’ve been able to stick with a plan. Thank you for your book recommendations and the pacing you provide in the schedule. It’s been amazing – thank you for creating a resource that works so well with different age groups!”

— Emily

“I’ve been homeschooling for 11 years and have tried to implement a Charlotte Mason education, but have often felt overwhelmed and like I’m falling short. I eventually scaled back down to the bare minimum after a couple more kids came along but missed the feast. Thank you for distilling it all down and making it straightforward and doable for moms with multiple ages and stages. There are so many moving parts to a CM education and some of us just need it all on one page – you nailed it. I’m so grateful – there is a spring in my step and a clarity for the day that I haven’t had in a long time.”

— Callie

“The copywork quotes are beautiful.

Having nature journal prompts laid out for me helps our family to be consistent with nature study.”

— Marie (mom of 4)

“If you want a curriculum that is thoughtful, beautiful, historically rich, and truly enjoyable for both parent and child, Without Doors: Early America is it. It has become one of our very favorite resources, and I can’t recommend it enough.”

— Mike

“This curriculum is a breath of fresh air! It holds true to Charlotte Mason’s principles. It’s beautiful, well thought out, and a true work of art.”

— Bambi
